Everyone is different, and diversity of thought is incredibly powerful. That’s why we're launching a programme to attract neurodiverse individuals.
Did you know, latest figures from the Office of National Statistics state that just 22% of autistic adults are in any kind of employment?
One of the biggest barriers to employment is the challenge of starting a new job in a new environment; the unwritten rules of office life can be bewildering for some neurodiverse people.
Everything from meeting etiquette to cake and leaving cards can appear completely illogical to someone who is not used to them. And our open plan offices can be very distracting, particularly after we have all spent a year in control of our own spaces at home.
We want to do something about all this. So we’ve joined forces with the University of Cambridge to create a neurodiverse data science placement scheme open to neurodiverse individuals with an interest Data Science, Data Engineering or Data Visualisation. In building a more diverse team, we will benefit from those different perspectives.
