Jan 12:Stanford Neurodiversity Project Network for K-12 Neurodiversity Education & Advocacy Meeting

The NNEA meeting on Thur, Jan 12th (4pm PST), will be having two great speakers coming to share their experience. Both of them are very experienced in supporting neurodiverse individuals in their professions and can possibly offer very helpful insights to many of us, whether we are students, parents, advocates, or educators. (Please see their bios below.)

Sharon Eva



Sharon is an occupational therapist working with neurodiverse children and adults. As an occupational therapist, she helps people engage and participate in their meaningful activities. She utilizes a strengths-based approach in her practice, focusing on cultivating the patient's strengths to increase well-being and intrinsic motivation, and using their special interests in treatment. She feels fortunate to be doing something every day that she is so passionate about! Her talk this time is titled "Sensory Processing: the Effect on Well-Being and Contexts We Can Control."


Katharine Alsop


Katharine (she/her) is a Disability and Neurodiversity Advocate who is passionate about utilizing the power of empathy and compassion inherent in all of us to move toward true equality. She is Queer, Neurodivergent (2E, late diagnosed AuDHD), and Disabled. She has extensive professional experience in Human Services (including working with all ages of neurodivergent people), academic experience in Psychology and Human Development, and is currently in Community and Inclusion Consulting in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion SaaS/Technology space. She created the Supportive Group Chats for Give Us the Floor, which has given over 5500 teens a place to safely connect with and support other teens since its launch in early 2018.
