The college is currently operating in a hybrid capacity, with many positions working remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The college anticipates continuing to expand our on-campus presence. All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college.




 


Position Summary:


Come join Chemeketa's Human Resources as our Manager of Diversity Recruitment. This newly developed position will focus on developing and implementing Chemeketa's strategy for recruiting and hiring a racially diverse workforce and maintaining fair, equitable, consistent and compliant processes. The Manager - Diversity Recruitment will work to foster relationships with diverse communities locally, regionally and nationally to build pathways to employment at Chemeketa and increase the number of diverse applicants from historically underrepresented groups.


Additionally, the successful candidate will provide supervision, mentoring, and coaching to recruitment team members and training and coaching about inclusive recruiting and onboarding practices to hiring managers and recruitment committees in best practices. The Manager - Diversity Recruitment works in partnership with Human Resources leadership & Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Office to achieve Chemeketa's diversity goals. This position is responsible for oversight of daily recruitment operations and supervision of the Chemeketa Recruiter & Recruitment Specialist.


Duties and Responsibilities essential functions:


• Works collaboratively with Chief Diversity Officer to develop and implement Chemeketa's strategy for the recruitment and hiring of Black, Indigenous, Latino/Latinx people, and individuals from other underrepresented groups


• Evaluates available Chemeketa demographic and organizational practices data to provide recommendations for areas of focus in diversity recruitment efforts


• Develops short and mid-term goals and a long-range roadmap identifying deliverables and timelines


• Proposes industry-leading, creative solutions to grow and retain more diverse and equitable workforce


• Recommends institutional performance metrics related to diversity talent acquisition and building a diverse and equitable workforce


• Identifies trends and tracks key performance indicators and insights. Ensures projects and programs align to diversity, equity and inclusion priorities and best practices


• Remains current on best practices and current trends for building and maintaining a diverse and equitable workforce


• Develops, leads, and/or assists with trainings in areas of oversight Building Relationships


• Fosters relationships with diverse communities locally, regionally and nationally to build pathways to employment at Chemeketa and to increase the number of applicants of color and other applicants from underrepresented groups


• Partners with employee networks, and external networks to drive diverse applicants to Chemeketa


• Develops successful partnerships with faculty, staff, and organizational leaders


• Fosters partnership with recruitment team, classification/compensation and Diversity Equity and Inclusion Office to ensure coordinated efforts and effective processes toward shared goals Recruitment Oversight


• Provides supervision, mentoring, and coaching to recruitment staff in all areas including recruitment best practice, inclusive recruiting and onboarding practices, and assists with coaching hiring managers in such practices


• Leads recruitment team in area process review and improvement


• Organizes and facilitates diversity recruitment events for the recruitment team


• Develops a sustainable plan for Chemeketa attendance at community events and recruitment fairs


• Leads recruitment team in developing sourcing plans to attract a diverse slate of applicants


• Responsible for overseeing and recommending changes that reduce bias in the hiring, selection


• Works collaboratively with the Chief Diversity Officer and Recruitment team to develop training for hiring managers and selection committee members on recruitment-related policies, processes and expectations


• Researches and recommends diversity pathway programs to address specific focus areas (i.e. internships, trainee programs, etc.) and supports Human Resources and the Diversity Equity & Inclusion office in implementing such programs


• Ensures that timely data and information is provided to hiring managers and college leadership regarding the status of recruitment pools and diversity of pools


• Provides day to day assistance and backup as needed for processing recruitments Other Functions

• Participates in recruitment and retention of students at an individual and institutional level in promotion of student success

• Provides high quality, effective service to internal and external customers through continuous improvement and adoption of lean office practices

Minimum qualifications


Four years of progressively responsible experience that includes:


• Demonstrated knowledge of the lived experience of Black, Indigenous, Latinx people and/or individuals from other underrepresented groups


• Demonstrated knowledge of trends, systems and techniques that contribute to successful talent acquisition processes, such as proactive sourcing, behavioral-based interviewing, equitable selection methods


• Experience developing relationships with internal and external partners including community-based organizations


• Leadership/management experience (A Bachelor's degree may substitute for 2 years of experience -OR- a Master's degree may substitute for 3 years of experience)

• Experience working in large, complex organizations.


• Greater than five years of experience associated with diversity-related activities


• Supervisory experience


• Bachelor's Degree or greater


• Experience developing and implementing programs/projects/plans that includes multiple stakeholders

• This is a 100%, 12-month exempt assignment of the C4 band and grade
